UMV Rajepur, Mehsi, East Champaran, Bihar: The official website of Bihar's first government school.
Welcome to the Safe Saturday initiative at UMS UMV Rajepur! Recognizing that safety and preparedness are fundamental to a healthy learning environment, we dedicate the last Saturday of every month (or a designated Saturday) to focused activities, drills, and awareness sessions on crucial safety and health topics.
Safe Saturday moves beyond theoretical lessons to practical application, ensuring that every member of the school community knows how to act responsibly in various situations.
Awareness: Educating students and staff on potential risks within the school and home environment.
Preparedness: Conducting drills and training sessions for emergency response (e.g., fire, earthquake).
Life Skills: Imparting essential knowledge on personal safety, hygiene, and first aid.
Zero Tolerance: Reinforcing school policies against bullying, harassment, and unsafe behaviour.
Welcome to our Bagless Safe Saturday initiative at UMS UMV Rajepur! On designated Saturdays, students come to school without their heavy school bags. This special, lightened day is dedicated entirely to practical learning, safety awareness, skill development, and creative activities, ensuring a fun and stress-free educational experience.
The idea behind the Bagless day aligns with modern educational practices that prioritize activity-based and experiential learning.
Stress Reduction: Relieving students, especially younger ones, from carrying heavy loads and reducing weekend academic pressure.
Focus on Skills: Shifting the focus from textbook learning to developing essential non-scholastic skills, life lessons, and safety knowledge.
Activity-Based Learning: Utilizing the entire school day for interactive workshops, group projects, drills, and creative play, making learning memorable.
A significant portion of the Bagless Saturday is dedicated to the core principles of our Safe Saturday program, with an emphasis on hands-on practice.
Since books and homework are set aside, the remaining time is used to nurture talent and practical intelligence through our various clubs:
1. STEM & Tech Fun (Technocrat Coders & Science Club)
Scratch Storytelling: Using the computer lab for simple, block-based coding to create animated safety announcements or short moral stories.
Simple Science Magic: Hands-on, no-mess experiments demonstrating basic physical and chemical phenomena (e.g., density, static electricity).
2. Art & Environment (Eco & Youth Club)
Best Out of Waste: Creative workshops where students use recyclable materials to build models, promoting resource conservation.
Campus Greening Day: Focused time for gardening, weeding, and learning about the plants in our herbal garden.
