At UMS UMV Rajepur, we view daily homework as a crucial extension of classroom learning. It is designed to reinforce concepts taught during the day, encourage independent study habits, and prepare students for future lessons.

🎯 Purpose of Homework

Homework is not just busywork; it is a strategic tool used to enhance your child's educational journey:

• Reinforcement: It provides the necessary practice to solidify understanding of new skills and concepts learned in subjects like Mathematics and Language.

• Revision: It helps students recall and review previously learned material, aiding in long-term memory retention.

• Responsibility: It teaches children time management, organization, and the importance of taking personal responsibility for their academic growth.

• Parent-School Link: It provides parents with insight into the curriculum and their child's progress, creating a stronger partnership between home and school.

📝 Guidelines for Students and Parents

To ensure homework is completed effectively and without stress, we recommend the following guidelines:

For Students:

1. Understand the Task: Always ensure you clearly understand the homework assigned before leaving the class. If you have doubts, ask your teacher immediately.

2. Set a Schedule: Establish a fixed time and quiet place at home to complete your work daily.

3. Prioritize: Start with the subjects that require the most effort or those that are due first.

4. Do Your Best: Focus and try to complete the work independently. This is the best way to identify areas where you need help.

5. Be Neat: Present your work clearly and neatly in the assigned notebooks.

For Parents:

• Provide a Space: Ensure your child has a well-lit, quiet, and comfortable area dedicated to homework.

• Set the Time: Help establish a consistent homework time and ensure they stick to it.

• Encourage, Don't Do: Your role is to support, motivate, and supervise, not to do the work for them. If your child is struggling, help them find the answer in their textbook or notes, or encourage them to mark the question to ask the teacher the next day.

• Check Completeness: Check that the homework is completed and placed back in the school bag ready for the next day.

Note: Teachers communicate daily homework assignments to students at the end of the subject period and it is typically recorded in the Student Diary/Planner.
